Safety Guide

Essential rules for protecting yourself while spreadsheet shopping

1. Verify Every Seller

Before clicking any purchase link, independently verify the seller's platform. Check for HTTPS encryption, legitimate contact information, and a history of transactions. Never trust a seller solely because they appear in a spreadsheet entry. Cross-reference with community discussions and recent buyer feedback.

2. Inspect QC Photos Thoroughly

Quality Control photos are your first line of defense against disappointment. Always open the full album, zoom into details, and compare with retail reference images. Look for stitching consistency, material texture, logo placement accuracy, and packaging completeness. If photos are missing or low quality, request additional shots before approving.

3. Use Protected Payment Methods

Credit cards and buyer-protected digital wallets are your strongest safeguards. These methods allow dispute resolution if products never arrive or differ significantly from QC photos. Avoid direct bank transfers, cryptocurrency, and cash payments for unfamiliar sellers. The extra fees for protected payment methods are insurance against fraud.

4. Document Everything

Before completing any purchase, take screenshots of the spreadsheet entry, the seller product page, the QC photos, and the checkout screen with pricing. Save order confirmation emails and tracking numbers. This documentation is essential evidence if a dispute arises. Buyers who document consistently resolve issues in their favor significantly more often.

5. Spot Red Flags

Be alert for warning signs: prices dramatically below market average, sellers pressuring for immediate payment, lack of return policies, missing contact information, and URLs that appear slightly altered from known legitimate platforms. When something feels off, trust your instincts and find an alternative seller or product.

6. Report Suspicious Activity

If you encounter broken links, misleading product descriptions, or sellers exhibiting suspicious behavior, report the entry to spreadsheet moderators immediately. Your report protects the entire community. The faster suspicious entries are flagged, the fewer buyers are exposed to risk.
